Dear Neighbors,
I am happy to be addressing you as the new president. Dave and I are glad to be home for a while. We have no plans to live overseas
at the moment. We look forward to getting to know more of the neighborhood.
The annual meeting in May went well as usual. We had a good turnout. Thank you to Linda Hodges and Mort Gold for opening their
home to us for the meeting. It was nice to be able to stay in the neighborhood. And to Jamie Neal, Linda Hodges, and Linda Talbot,
et al, for the great meal at the park. Many thanks go to everyone who helped to make it successful.
The outgoing board put in many hours that many of us did not see as did the legal committee. The result of which is that now TLPOA
owns the property adjacent to the park and goes to the middle of the Colorado River!! One issue raised at the meeting was the
property taxes for the newly acquired land at the park. The property had been valued at more than the price we paid, but kudos go
to Dennis Ela and Elizabeth Boggess-Hess for their diligence and hard work at getting the tax appraisal lowered. Hopefully this is
the end and we can now enjoy our park in peace. Thank you!
We say farewell and thanks to outgoing board members – Patrick Johnston, Margie New, Jamie Neal, Nancy Dobson and Tom Krampitz. We
say hello to Chris Phillips, Ryan Harden, Sandi Etheredge, Jody Tatum and Delk Watson. Janice Blanton is now Secretary, Judy
Harrison has stayed on one more year as Vice President and Ross Wade has another year as Treasurer.
We have a big event this year. It is the 50th anniversary of the founding of Travis Landing. We are looking for people to help
plan the celebration that is scheduled for this fall. We have some great ideas forming that are sure to make it a lot of fun. If
you are interested in helping, please give me a call.
I wish everyone a pleasant summer. The lake is up and it looks like we are going to have a great summer!
Cheers, Diane
President TLPOA
