Park News

The fence painting job is complete! Senter Construction & Design made repairs, primed and repainted the iron fencng surrounding the entrance to the big park and did a great job!

We are also repairing the locks at the front gate. Apparently, locks were not actually locking the locks as people were pulling out their keys. Cothran's will be repairing the locks.

Tree Watering Schedule

We are pleased that the volunteer system for watering the new trees in the park has been real successful. With the drought season over for awhile, we can surely expect the trees to continue to stay strong.

Elizabeth Boggess has agreed to head up the volunteer watering committee again this year but she needs volunteers willing to do the watering of the new trees in big park. We shouldn't have to worry about watering for awhile...the trees are holding up real well. Watering needs to be conducted once a week and takes about 2 hours to finish.

Here is the new tree Watering Schedule through May 2010:

New Trees Watering Schedule

October MayDelk Watson
NovemberVickie Stones  Many thanks to all who volunteered!
DecemberJim & Beverly Allen

Backups:   Barbara Bland, Judy Harrison, Cara & Reed Farnsworth, Stacey Breach & Bill Stout, and Elizabeth Boggess.

A watering system has been designed to make watering the trees easy. A water meter, 12V pump and a long hose have been added to tanks on a trailer so all you have to do is pick it up, fill it up and water. It takes about 2 hours, once a week (unless it rains). You will be shown how to use the watering system.

Park Safety Tips

The following tips are provided to help you enjoy the parks in Travis Landing.  Please abide by these guidelines and the park rules to respect and protect every resident's right to enjoy the amenities.

Parking your vehicle in the big park
The big park is for neighborhood use, where residents are encouraged to walk or bike to the park by way of neighborhood pathways.  Vehicles are allowed.  However, parking along pathways is strongly encouraged.  Do not park on the grassy areas as this may kill the grass and is a potential fire hazard.

Get a car decal
The TLPOA car decal helps keep track of non-resident vehicles in the parks and neighborhood.  Please contact Ross Wade at 266-0557 to obtain one.  The car decal should be installed on your rear vehicle window.

Help us keep our parks safe and clean!
The Travis Landing Property Owners Association needs your help to maintain the beauty of our parks in Travis Landing.  Please report any vandalism, unsafe structures, or questionable behavior to the Travis County Sheriff's Department at (512) 854-9728 and a TLPOA board member.  Thank you for your cooperation!

Common sense guidelines for your safety...
For your personal safety, where ever you may be, we recommend that when enjoying the parks and pathways, do not allow children to stay at parks unattended; lock your bikes and cars with valuables out of sight; extinguish any camp fire or BBQ grill BEFORE leaving the park area; keep unruly pets on a leash for the safety and enjoyment of others.
